The Longer Story

Empire Studios* started as a storage room, yet with a dash of creative and a 1/2 cup of work, it came to be. In June 2004, the studio began taking it's form. With a few renovations to the room itself to improve acoustics, the equipment and wiring was set up. Now, Empire Studios* is packed with great equipment and colour posters and framed pictures. No other studio is as intimate as mine, so drop by sometime!

Introduction Of The Promo Dynamo

Incase you have no clue who the Promo Dynamo is, which is a godshame, but lets not mention that, i'll introduce him... IT's ME. So the story behind Brando The Promo Dynamo is a complicated one and takes about a 500 word essay to tell, but here's the Coles Notes version, in sentence fragments. Band called Tranquil. Band is cool. Me like band. Me work for band promoting it. Bassist, had too many Advils. He call me Promo something, and then Promo Dynamo. Me named Brando the Promo Dynamo. Then I capitalized the t in The. Me now named Brando The Promo Dynamo. Me make stickers. So there we go.

Improvements

During the summer months I re-wired the whole studio; mic cables, telephone chord, patch chords, and all that jazz. On top of that, I made a few renovations and repairs (especially numerous repairs to the ceiling) so everything is in perfect condition. On July 10th, Empire Studios*, turned into SCHOOL OF ROCK. Manny and I (Brando The Promo Dynamo), taught young Adam how to play the guitar. Two very simple riffs were learned in about 2 hours (a 1/2hr and 1&1/2hr split). It was some great teamwork all together and lots of enthusiasm! Keep Rockin The Free World

For the length of the 2005-2006 academic year, Empire Studios* will be in Co-Op with Crawford Media Productions, running out of the SMC G5 lab. Here we learn about the basics of video, sound, and image editing. One of the most important pieces of software on deck is GarageBand, by far the best sound/music recording and producing software on the market. Unfortunately it is only available for Mac's, so the G5 at Crawford Media Productions is my access to it. These two tracks have been created in GarageBand, althought, track 1, has a voice over which has been edited in SoundStudios 2.0 with vocal filters.
